Letter to the editor: Thank you Two Harbors!

These awesome volunteers are just some of the people who made this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive a success.

On Saturday, May 10, members of the National Association of Letter Carriers hosted the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. All over the Two Harbors area, residents contributed food items and dollars to support the Two Harbors Area Food Shelf and food shelf patrons. Letter carriers and volunteers picked up donations and transported them to the AEOA transit hub where volunteers unloaded, weighed and sorted the donation bags. All of this effort resulted in a total of 4,750 pounds of food and $285. Although this total is slightly lower than last year’s, the food shelf is grateful for the increased number of protein products donated. These items will be especially welcomed by food shelf patrons.

On behalf of the Two Harbors Area Food Shelf, I would like to thank the community, volunteers and the letter carriers for all of their efforts toward making this food drive such a success. In addition, I would like to thank Do North Pizza, Super One Foods, and Subway for the food donated for hungry volunteers.

The Two Harbors community continues to support a commitment to generosity and compassion for those in need. Thank you!
