Letter to the editor: North Shore girls and coaches lauded

From Deade Johnson, Two Harbors

There is nothing better than tournament time in Minnesota. The road trips for hockey games and the memories that the players and families will have will last a lifetime.

More kids in Minnesota play hockey than in any other state and we have all of our volunteers and their hard work to thank for that.

On March 2, the North Shore Storm 12U B girls played in the regional tournament held in Roseau, Minn. They won first place in the championship game against Brainerd. Now they get to go to the state play-offs in two weeks.

I want to thank all the volunteers in our county who make it possible to have such wonderful hockey programs here. I want to especially thank our dedicated coaches, Steve Graden, Casey Komarek, and Jeff Dwyer.

Congratulations girls on being the regional champions and good luck at state!
