Letter to the editor: Keep the golf course
From Willard M. Clark, Two Harbors
I think that the Two Harbors Municipal Golf Course is an asset that is worth keeping. I am not a golfer, but many of my senior friends are. They have paid taxes into the city coffers for many years to enjoy something they love to do. If it is legal, the city should borrow from their reserves and pay off the bonds to make the golf course debt free.
I am not a wealthy person, but I think I could afford to pay my share of a city levy to pay for maintenance all of our recreational facilities.
We have to think of the health and welfare of our citizens; not just whether our facilities are making a profit.
