Letter to the editor: How is our money being spent?

From Mary Rosati

Two Harbors

Friends and neighbors, over the next couple of months I’ll be asking how the city is spending your money. Here are a few examples from 2013-14:

-A lobbyist getting $11,000 a year to promote a safe harbor.

-A portable stage costing $12,000.

How much did it cost to send the mayor and city counselors to St. Paul to play poker? Hotel rooms, mileage, meals?

This is only the tip of the iceberg, folks. Read the Two Harbors City Council minutes in the Lake County News-Chronicle and see what’s being spent on foolish items.

Congratulations to those councilors who have the courage to vote “No.”
