Henrietta performance draws praise
On Feb. 7, the community was treated to the delightful performance of Henrietta by local musician Tom Broadbent and directed by Barbara Houle Schwanke. The play was performed at Two Harbors High School by a group of first-grade students who had signed up through Community Education to be a part of the musical.
All of the children sang and danced to original songs. There were two solos sung by Elizabeth Burns as Henrietta and Logan Cox as the Cat. Practices were after school for just a few weeks, with one dress rehearsal.
"All of the children were marvelous and had an opportunity to shine in the performing arts," said Houle Schwanke. "The wonderful costumes were made by Sharon Mylan and the darling set backdrops were made by all the local first graders."
Each child will receive a DVD of the performance. The event was very well attended, Houle Schwanke said.
