Heather Peterson, 42, of Finland, died with her family by her side, Monday, July 7, 2014, at Carefree Living in Silver Bay, after fighting a courageous six year battle with brain cancer.

She was born March 18, 1972, to Robert and Carol (Swanson) Williams. Heather grew up in Silver Bay and graduated from William Kelley High School in 1990. She married Ted Peterson on Aug. 26, 1995, in Finland. Heather was an avid photographer, taught Sunday school at Zion Lutheran Church, was a board member of North Shore Area Partners, active in Relay for Life, and was a beloved team member at Bri-Esa's Convenience in Silver Bay.

Heather's joys were being a mother to her three children, bowling, gardening, and thinking up new projects to add to Ted's "honey-do" list.

Heather will be remembered for her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, amazing bravery, and kind and caring heart. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and loved her.

Heather is preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Robert and Florence Peterson; and grandparents, Cecil and Rita Swanson and Carl and Edith Williams.

She is survived in the hearts of her husband Ted; children, Cody, Josie, and Chase; siblings, Jolene (Jon) Stover, Tami Ehrenberg, Holly (Michael) Ostrowski, James (Kara) Williams, and Jarod Williams; grand niece, Layla; grand nephews, Landon and Vinny; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, the extended Williams and Peterson families, and many loving friends.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Saturday July 12, at the Clair Nelson Center in Finland. Sign the online register book at
