Chamber golf outing a success
From Kiera Miller
The Two Harbors Area Chamber of Commerce held their annual golf outing on Aug. 4 at Lake View National Golf Course. Twenty-one teams participated in this year's event, totalling 84 golfers. Participants played an 18-hole golf scramble, followed by dinner and awards. The value in the event is twofold. The chamber is membership-based, but we have to do fundraising to offset costs that memberships don't cover. The tournament helps with that. Also, it provides an ideal opportunity to get people together and mingle outside of the office. The golf game is complemented by the chance to network and get to know others in our area business community. It's less a tournament and more a outing. That's why we've stuck with the name of "Two Harbors Area Chamber of Commerce — Annual Golf Outing." We had a great turnout this year and thank everyone who participated and helped sponsor the event. Sponsors and golfers are the integral parts that create a successful golf outing each year. This is the second largest chamber fundraiser of the year; with the largest fundraiser being the annual Spring Banquet.
This year's major sponsors were the Two Harbors Federal Credit Union, Super One, Lake Connections, Cliffs Natural Resources, Sonju Motors, Lake View Hospital and Stanley Labounty.
