Luke Small and Chad Smuk were both named to the south division of the Big North All Conference football team. Smuk was also named the most valuable lineman.   

Here's a review of the 2013 season stats and player achievements.

• Jonah Koehler was the top rusher with 736 yards followed by Michael Fischer with 631.

• Luke Small completed 42 of 95 passes for 585 yards and seven TDs. Small led the team with nine TDs and Michael Fischer had seven.

• Small finished with 56 points followed by Koehler with 53 and Fischer with 50.

• Top receiver was Chad Smuk with 13 for 160 yards and four TDs, followed by Nathan Bauck with 10 for 167 yards. 

• Bauck led the team with four interceptions and Michael Klofstad was tops with five recovered enemy fumbles.

• Smuk led the team with four sacks.

• Tops in tackles was Small with 51 followed by Eben Fischer with 43,Klofstad with 42 and Michael Fischer with 41.    

Career stats

Koehler is now 13th in scoring with 109 points. Small is 16th in career TDs with 14 and Koehler is 20th with 13.

Koehler is ninth in rushing yards with 1,397 and 18th in rushing TDs with 11.

Small is ninth in passing yards with 1,170,9th in pass completions with 81 and eighth in passing TDs with 12.

Smuk with 17 sacks is now the career leader for the Mariners.

Smuk is 12th in pass receptions with 28 and Eben Fischer is 20th in pass reception yardage with 300.

Koehler is 5th with seven 100- yard rushing games and his 736 yards rushing this season is 18th best overall.

Small is 11th with 139 tackles

Koehler's 25 points kicking is 7th overall.

 The girls' hockey team begins play tonight at International Falls versus the Broncos. Tomorrow they're at Two Harbors for a 2p.m. game against Orono, the No.7 ranked Class A team. Tuesday evening they travel to Eveleth to play the Golden Bears. The girls have added a game versus a team from Thunder Bay. Tori Stevens and Cora Carter have been moved back to play on the blue line. They each had some experience playing there in youth hockey. There are two seniors on the team this with Sommer Courneya being the second senior.

The North Shore Storm will be at the Heritage Center in Duluth on Tuesday to participate in the Lake Superior Conference Jamboree.
