American Legion Juniors receive awards
From Deade Johnson, Junior Advisor
American Legion Post 109
Daynna Johnson-Garst was awarded patches at Red Level 1, which is for kindergarten through 1st grade. Nya and Sky were awarded patches at Gold Level 2 which is for 4th-8th graders.
Junior Auxiliary members can serve their communities, veterans, and learn about patriotism, health, fitness and leadership through this program. Each patch has its own criteria, which junior member must meet in order to earn the award. Each of the girls put in over 30 hours of community service volunteer work each this past year, including work for our active duty military, disabled veterans and veterans.
The American Legion Auxiliary Junior Program is open to girls through age 18 and the Junior Activities Patch Program is available to kids in Kindergarten through 12th grade. For more information, email junioractivities@ALAforVeterans.org.
