Chalk.a.Lot needs volunteers
The sixth annual Chalk.a.Lot sidewalk chalk festival is anticipating returning the weekend of July 14-16, and could really use your help.
Volunteers are needed to help organize this growing event, in the areas of: pre-event chalk drawings around town, teaching tips and techniques, marketing, distribution of marketing materials, signage, fundraising, site preparation, recruiting art activity booths, scheduling musicians, finding food vendors, advertising, securing featured artists, grant applications and reports, and volunteer coordination for the event.
Volunteers are also needed the weekend of the event to assist in set-up, take-down and general assistance.
The festival brings together many different people of varying ages and experience levels, creating an environment that can have the youngest artists working together with the oldest. The event attracts professional artists who have years of experience as well as amateurs, who hope to gain knowledge and experience by getting to work near the professionals.
