Two Harbors Area, LaBounty funds invite grant applicants

The Two Harbors Area Fund and the LaBounty Family Fund seek Lake County nonprofit organizations with project ideas for funding available through their spring grant rounds.

The Two Harbors Area Fund supports projects in the arts, education, environment, human services and community initiatives, with grants generally ranging from $500 to $5,000.

The LaBounty Family Fund provides assistance to projects that promote public economic development in the Two Harbors area, with grants generally ranging from $1,000 to $15,000.

To apply for a grant from either fund, applicants must submit a letter of intent to apply, which briefly outlines the project idea and allows fund officials to review the proposal.

To be eligible, groups must be charitable organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or classified under Section 170(c)(1) of the code, and must also be located in or provide services to the area defined by the attendance area of Two Harbors High School.

Letters are due by 5 p.m. Feb. 15. Submit letters at dsacommunityfoundation.com.

Groups whose letters receive approval can then formally apply for a grant by 5 p.m. March 1, also through the website.
