Two Harbors cleanup day expands
The Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District, the city of Two Harbors and Castle Danger Brewery are partnering to clean up several areas around the city April 20.
For the last three years, SWCD volunteers have gathered to "Sweep the Skunk" of debris that collected in Skunk Creek during the winter.
In past years, volunteers have collected more than 600 pounds of garbage from the creek. This year, SWCD and Castle Danger joined forces with the city of Two Harbors to expand the scope of the event.
In honor of Earth Day, volunteers will meet at 10 a.m April 22 at the Castle Danger taproom in Two Harbors. They will then fan out across the city to clean up the Burlington Bay trails and beach as well as the trails by Super One and Skunk Creek.
At 2 p.m., volunteers will return to the taproom for a free beer and pizza.
