Cookout with The Lake Bank

The Lake Bank will be hosting a community cookout Aug. 15 from 4-6 p.m. at its Two Harbors location. Members of the community will be able to partake in a number of activities that are fun for the whole family.

Some of the attractions of this event include, of course, the cookout itself. They will be grilling hot dogs and making popcorn and delicious root beer floats for everyone in attendance. There will also be prize giveaways such as winning a brand new bicycle. Children can get outdoors and play with their friends while grown ups can do the adult version of the very same. Children can also have their faces painted, as well as the opportunity to meet local officials such as police, paramedics and firemen when they tour the real police car, firetruck and ambulance.

The Lake Bank has always played an active role in the community via their support of other local organizations such as the Lake County Developmental Achievement Center, the food shelf, and Community Partners to name a few. They also do an annual flower planting on Outer Drive in Silver Bay, have a float in the annual Heritage Days parade and sponsor the children's day at the Lake County Fair, the annual Two Harbors Kayak Festival, the 2017 Silver Bay Women's Golf Invitation, and the 2017 Law Enforcement Torch Run.

"In the first quarter of 2017 we embarked on a makeover of the inside of our downtown location. We installed new floor tile, carpet, new teller line and reception. We installed energy efficient LED lighting and purchased new desks, furniture, artwork etc. Now we'd like old and young to see what we've done and enjoy some hot dogs and root beer floats," said bank president Peter Jeronimus. "This bank has been on first avenue operating as an independent community bank since 1889. It is an astounding length of time to be operating as an independent. We are very proud of that history and want to show a little appreciation."
