With lights shining brightly Tuesday night, the judges of the annual Holiday Lighting Contest made their way through Two Harbors to choose the winners.

Once again, there were many houses that weren't entered into the contest, but had amazing lights displayed. People are encouraged every year to enter themselves or their neighbors into the contest. There were more than a dozen entries this year, but there were no ties.

The winners are:

• First place — Ken Peterson at 1431 Eighth Ave.

• Second place — Rick and Betty Bennett at 1880 Highway 2.

• Third place — Rick and Judy Osbakken at 1550 20th Ave.

Noteworthy honorable mentions were awarded to the Seventh Avenue Segog neighborhood, once again, the Laura Lane neighborhood and the Harbors Hills neighborhood.

The Holiday Lighting Contest is sponsored by the Lake County News-Chronicle and the Two Harbors Area Chamber of Commerce.
