Two Harbors Public Library News:
Library and Friends Celebration is Tuesday, April 18 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The party on Tuesday is an opportunity to celebrate both the Two Harbors Public Library and the Friends of the Library. It comes just after National Library Week, April 9-15, and near the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Friends of the Library. The first meeting of the Friends group was April 21, 1997.
People who participated in the organization during the first year included Chris and Bob Ostby, Lyle Northey, Sherry Behm, Irene Koenig, Marge Radosevich, Mary Hagen, Lois Erickson, Scott Ross, Maggie Keppes, Stella Sorbo and Deel Hoffman. Many others have joined them over the years, supporting the Friends of the Library as members, officers and volunteers.
The event will include an open house with food, door prizes for kids and adults, music, handouts, a chance to try out the new button-maker, starting at 5:30 p.m. At 7 p.m. there will be a short program including honoring the founders of the Friends. The first chance to purchase the new Friends of the Library book bags will be at the celebration.

April showers bring the spring flowers on the North Shore. On Tuesday, May 2 at 6 p.m. join us as nature photographer Phil Hartley presents late summer and fall flowers along Minnesota's beautiful North Shore. You will learn how to identify our most common wildflowers as well as when to expect them to bloom. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library. All are welcome.
On Tuesday, May 4 from 4-6 p.m. make a beautiful Mother's Day card for that special maternal and nurturing person in your life. Bonnie Warner, from "Stamping to See You," is back with another hands-on lesson on how to make a card that will make you your Mom's favorite. Paper, laughter and fun provided free of charge. Children are welcome, accompanied by an adult.
